Boscastle, Cornwall UK

Boscastle, on the north coast of Cornwall is set in breath taking scenery. Boscastle used to be a busy sea port, the river having formed a channel between the cliffs; the harbour wall was built in 1584. Coal was brought in and local slate taken but all that was long ago.

On this lovely unspoilt coastline, Boscastle is four miles north of Tintagel
and south of Bude.

Boscastle is pretty and romantic - it is said that Thomas Hardy met his first wife here.
