The ancient market and stannary (historic tin mining) town of Helston with its population of 10,000 is one of the larger towns and shopping centres in West Cornwall uk. It is an excellent base from which to explore the Lizard Peninsula and the rest of west Cornwall. Find the upper reaches of the Helford River and you've found peace.

Within a few miles are open beaches and hidden coves, high cliffs and bare moor.
