| Sennen and Sennen Cove are popular villages in the far west of Cornwall; the long sandy bathing beach at Sennen Cove which nestles around the corner from Lands End was voted ‘cleanest in Britain’ in 1998. With some of the most consistent surf in the country on Gwenver and Whitesands beaches the area is a favourite for surfers. At low tide Whitesands beach stretches a mile to secluded Gwenver. When bathing or surfing look for the flagged areas which can change according to the tide. The area has atmosphere and history; there is a lifeboat station and slip plus a former windlass house, now a crafts gallery and a cliff castle. Sennen is towards the very end of the A30 and Sennen Cove is reached by descending Cove Road. For satisfaction, enjoyment,
exercise and fresh air in abundance, try the cliff walk to Lands End.
