St. Ives, Cornwall UK
St. Ives Cornwall UK

The town of St Ives, down the far end of Cornwall is magnificently situated, being surrounded by glorious beaches (see above!). It is also famous for its art, having been a well known artists colony for over 100 years. These artists were attracted by the year round bright light and glorious scenery, so why not follow suit?

As well as numerous local galleries and potteries, the most famous attraction probably has to be the Tate gallery (Tel. 01736 796226)

Surfing is popular on the nearby Porthmeor beach, whilst Porthminster is a more sheltered family beach. Parking for Porthmeor is at Barnoon and above the beach, and for Porthminster by the railway station. Carbis Bay is nearby, a lovely beach for children with good parking.
