Quiet, small, and unspoilt the up-market seaside resort of Budleigh Salterton on the coast of East Devon uk is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the mouth of the River Otter. The south facing beach of large round flat pebbles is clean and uncrowded, with colourful fishing boats and the views from the cliffs and West Down Beacon wonderful. There is a designated 'Fisherman's Area' and, to the west a designated area of beach where clothing is optional.

The town has quaint houses, quality shops, restaurants and cafes and is a former winner of awards in the Britain in Bloom competition. Close by is lovely countryside. There is a Nature Reserve on the Otter estuary, which is one of the smallest in the south west but supports a wealth of wild life.
