| Combe Martin on the coast of North Devon is a quiet village
in a beautiful and fertile valley on the western edge of Exmoor. Footpaths
lead in many directions from the village so that the walker can appreciate
the outstanding coastal scenery with spectacular views from headlands to peaceful
coves.
The main street winds along the combe (valley), for over two miles and is reputed to be one of the longest in the country. Look for the Pack of Cards public house which was built in the 17th century from the winnings of a card game, with features to match! The beach at Combe
Martin is a mixture of sand and pebbles which when the tide is out, extends
into large areas of firm, clean sand. There are lots of rock pools to explore.
